Little Shop of Hamsters (Goosebumps, Horror Land #14)
This story is about a boy named Sam who desperately wants a pet. His parents don't think he's responsible enough. To prove to them that he is he takes a job in a pet store that sells nothing but hamsters. Sam soon finds out that the cute little hamsters can become very UNCUTE monsters. R.L Stine has been one of my son's favorite authors since he was about 8.
A sad but true little tidbit: In Public School the 4th Grade the teachers frowned upon him checking these books out since they were above his "level", and in 5th Grade they told him they were below his "level". HUH?
